Intensive Driving Lessons in Peterborough: FAQs
Clear answers about choosing, booking and completing an intensive driving course in Peterborough.
01 Which Peterborough course should I choose?
Choose our standalone 25-hour course if you want to build strong foundations quickly and do not need a practical test included in the course arrangements. If you already have a test booked, choose one of our 5–45-hour preparation courses based on your current experience and the time available before your test.
If you are unsure, our course recommender can help you compare the two routes.
02 Do I need to have a driving test booked?
No. You do not need a test booked for the standalone 25-hour Get Up to Speed course. This option is designed to develop car control, driving routines and greater independence before you continue with lessons or private practice.
A confirmed practical test is required when booking one of our test-booked preparation courses.
03 Can I choose manual or automatic tuition?
Yes. Manual and automatic options are available in the Peterborough area, although individual start dates and timetables depend on the instructors currently operating locally.
Select your preferred transmission when booking so that we can arrange the correct type of instructor and tuition vehicle.
04 Where will my driving lessons take place?
Lessons are planned around your ability and may cover different parts of Peterborough and its surrounding road network. Training could include residential areas, busy roundabouts, parkways, rural roads and faster routes such as the A15 or A47 where appropriate.
Your instructor will select suitable locations that allow you to practise the skills you need rather than repeatedly following one fixed route.
05 How is my course timetable arranged?
Lessons follow the schedule agreed when booking your course. Once your instructor and timetable have been arranged, you will receive access to our Pupil Portal containing your lesson schedule, instructor contact details and instructions for paying the remaining balance.
06 Is my booking deposit protected?
Yes. If we are unable to provide suitable course arrangements, your booking deposit will be refunded in full. Full details of the booking process, payment arrangements and cancellation rights are explained in our Terms and Conditions .
07 Can I use my instructor’s car for my driving test?
Use of the instructor’s car can form part of confirmed test-booked course arrangements. However, the instructor must be satisfied that you have reached the standard required to take the test safely.
If the instructor considers that you are not ready to drive safely and independently, they will refuse use of their vehicle for the practical test.
08 What happens after I book?
We use the information supplied with your booking to arrange a suitable qualified instructor and workable lesson timetable. Once these arrangements are complete, your course information will be confirmed through the Pupil Portal.

Driving Test Centres Around Peterborough
Peterborough is the principal local test centre, while Boston and King’s Lynn may provide alternatives for some learners. Your course should prepare you to drive safely and independently across different road environments—not simply memorise test routes.
Peterborough
Fengate
Peterborough
PE1 5XA
Situated in the Fengate area, this centre can lead into a varied local road network. Useful preparation may include junctions, busy roundabouts, residential streets, changing speed limits and faster roads where these are appropriate to the pupil’s ability.
Boston
Redstone Industrial Estate
Boston, Lincolnshire
PE21 8AL
Boston offers a mixture of industrial-estate access roads, urban traffic, roundabouts and routes connecting with roads such as the A16 and A52. Lessons should also develop safe judgement on narrower roads and in changing traffic conditions.
King’s Lynn
Hardwick Industrial Estate
King’s Lynn, Norfolk
PE30 4LS
This centre is located within the Hardwick Industrial Estate. Preparation may involve industrial-estate junctions, urban traffic, roundabouts, residential areas and faster roads around King’s Lynn when suitable for the pupil’s development.
