- We’ll ask you for a deposit to secure your Intensive Driving Course. This will include the Practical driving test fee (unless you already have one booked). You can check the deposit payments for each Intensive Driving Course by clicking here.
- We’ll then book you into our diary and notify your Driving Instructor. They will then contact you to introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have. They will also confirm details of how to pay the balance of your course.

To start your driving journey, follow these steps. First, ensure you are at least 17 years old. If you haven’t already, apply for a provisional license. Follow this link to complete your application. You need to read a standard number plate from 20 meters away. To find out the exact requirements, follow this link.
It’s a great idea to have a valid theory test certificate since it’s needed to book your practical driving test. But don’t worry if you haven’t passed your theory test yet! We’re here to help with theory test training and can assist you in setting up your test. Once this is completed, we can then make arrangements to book your practical driving test.
Ultimately, it all depends on what works best for you and your individual preferences. If you choose to go for a manual transmission, you’ll have the ability to drive both manual and automatic cars, but keep in mind that there are additional skills you’ll need to master during the learning process. On the other hand, choosing to learn in an automatic car can be much easier to control, which makes it a fantastic option, especially for individuals who might feel nervous or intimidated about the prospect of learning to drive. The automatic vehicle allows you to focus more on the road and less on shifting gears, which can significantly reduce your stress while learning.
Our course descriptions give a detailed outline of what experience you should already have to be able to achieve test readiness with the amount of hours you are booking. The most important thing is to be honest, with us, and yourself! Everyone is looking for the same outcome, which is you successfully passing your driving test, and going on to be a safe and competent driver. Your Instructor will work as hard as possible to achieve this, but they cannot work miracles. There is nothing to be gained from booking too few hours and hoping for the best! You can find comprehensive details of what skills you need to pass your driving test on the Ready to Pass website
Regardless of which Intensive Driving Course you choose, each day consists of 5 hours. A short break is taken every hour, for comfort and safety. This is also an ideal time to discuss anything with your Instructor, without having to concentrate on the road! Although it might sound a long time, most Learners tend to cope well with the Intensive nature of the courses, and time goes by quickly!
Regardless of which Intensive Driving Course you book, you will use your Driving Instructor’s car to take your test. This is included in your Intensive Driving Course. You may choose to use your own car if you wish. If so, you need to ensure it meets Driving Test requirements. You can find these here.
Yes, you can use your own car to take a driving test but it does need to meet certain requirements. You can find these here.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a “guaranteed pass”! Anybody claiming otherwise, is not being at all transparent with you! Driving tests are conducted by the Driver & Vehicle standards Agency. They will assess you driving, and if it meets the required standards, you will pass. This is why it is so important to make sure you book enough time to prepare properly. The guarantee we can give you, is that your Instructor will work as hard as they possibly can to help you achieve the result you want.
If you’re lucky enough to have access to a car you can practice in, then absolutely yes! There is some great information about practicing privately on the “Ready to Pass” website. You can find more information here.
We always aim to secure a driving test for the last day of your Intensive Driving Course. This is achieved by constantly checking for late cancellations and new test dates being added. Since Covid, there has been a significant lack of driving test appointments, and we are to a large extent, at the mercy of the DVSA (Driver &Vehicle Standards Agency) who conduct driving tests. Whilst we are usually able to secure test dates when required, there are occasions where we may have to defer your test to a short time after your course has finished. In this case, you instructor will retain 2 hours from your course, so you test can be completed at a slightly later date.
Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to pass their Driving Test on the first attempt. Should this happen, don’t worry! We’ll arrange a new Driving test for you, and you’ll simply book some additional hours to prepare for your next Driving Test. Your Driving Instructor will be able to advise you how many additional hours you’ll need to book to make sure you finish to job next time!
Yes, we can help put you in touch with the right Insurance providers who specialise in Learner Drivers, and newly qualified drivers.
