ILLUSTRATIVE MESSAGE

We have an update about a possible driving test opportunity. Check the centre and date promptly, and follow the instructions in your alert if it suits your plans.

Read it promptly. Availability can change quickly.

Information arrives.
Your next step matters.

A text alert does not reserve a test

Read the details as soon as you can safely do so. Check whether the opportunity suits you and take the relevant next step promptly. Waiting until later may mean the appointment has already gone.

WHERE OUR UPDATES COME FROM

Useful information from several sources

Our alerts bring together information we gather and updates shared by people learning with us.

Information we gather

We look for information about potential test opportunities and share useful updates with pupils when we have them.

Customer feedback

Customers may tell us about availability they have seen or changes to their plans. Their feedback can help us identify information worth sharing.

Potential pupil swaps

An existing pupil may want a different test date. We can share information about a possible swap so interested pupils can explore whether it works for both of them.

Updates depend on the information available. An alert is a lead to check, rather than confirmation that an appointment is secured.

HOW THE SERVICE WORKS

From an update to your next step

Keep your details current, watch for our messages and know what to do when something suitable comes up.

01

Tell us what you need

Contact us about receiving alerts. Tell us your preferred test centres, suitable dates and whether you already have a practical test booked.

02

We share an update

When we have information to pass on, we send pupils a text alert. Read the message carefully to understand the opportunity and the next step.

03

Check it promptly

Consider the centre, date and preparation time. Follow the alert instructions quickly if it suits you, and check your instructor and car arrangements before changing your test.

04

Manage your own booking

You remain responsible for booking or changing your test through the official DVSA process. Tell us once your appointment is confirmed so we can discuss your tuition plans.

MAKE THE MOST OF AN ALERT

Prepare now.
Respond promptly later.

The more you have considered in advance, the easier it is to decide whether a test opportunity is right for you.

Open the Official Change-Test Service

Keep your phone details up to date Make sure we have the correct mobile number and that you can see incoming text notifications.

Know your suitable dates and centres Decide where you can travel and when you can realistically attend a test.

Discuss readiness and instructor availability An earlier appointment only helps if you have enough preparation time and suitable arrangements for the test.

Have your own booking information ready Keep the details needed for the official service accessible to you. Keep your login and personal booking details private.

Read messages when it is safe Never check or respond to an alert while driving. Stop somewhere safe before using your phone.

ALREADY HAVE A TEST?

Looking for a different date?

If your current appointment no longer suits your plans, tell us. Another pupil may be looking for a date like yours, while their appointment could be more suitable for you.

A potential match still needs to meet the current DVSA rules. Each learner must manage their own part of the official swap process. We cannot hold an appointment or complete a swap on your behalf.

Tell Us About Your Test
KEEP YOUR LEARNING MOVING

Work on your driving while you wait

You do not need a test date to start preparing. Choose 5–45 hours of manual or automatic tuition to suit your experience, then discuss how to build towards a safe test standard.

Already have a test booked? Choose your course around the preparation you need and check that a workable timetable can be arranged.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

About our test alerts

What to expect from an update and what remains your responsibility.

How do you find information for alerts?

We gather information about potential test opportunities, receive feedback from customers and hear from existing pupils who want to swap their appointments. When we have an update to share, we send pupils a text message.

Do you guarantee an earlier driving test?

No. Updates depend on the information available, and an appointment may be taken before you act. A possible swap also depends on both learners’ circumstances and the current DVSA rules.

How quickly should I act on a text?

Read it as soon as you can safely do so. If the opportunity suits you, follow the instructions promptly. Test appointments can be booked quickly, so delaying may mean missing out. Check your readiness, instructor and car arrangements before committing to a different date.

Does replying to an alert secure the appointment?

No. A reply does not reserve or confirm a test. Follow the next steps in the message and treat an appointment as secured only when it has been confirmed through the official DVSA process.

Will you book, change or swap my test for me?

No. You must book and manage your own car driving test. We share information and can discuss your course arrangements, but you remain responsible for your appointment.

Can I tell you that I want to swap my existing test?

Yes. Contact us with your test centre, date, time and the dates you would prefer. We can consider whether there may be a suitable opportunity involving another pupil. A match and a successful swap are not guaranteed.

How often will I receive a message?

We send alerts when we have updates to share. There is no fixed schedule or guaranteed number of messages. Keep your contact details and preferred dates up to date.

How do I ask about receiving alerts?

Contact our course administrator using the details below. Tell us whether you are an existing pupil, your preferred test centres and whether you already have an appointment. We will explain how the service applies to your circumstances.
