Follow these steps to find a driving test
There is no guaranteed shortcut or private cancellation list. The safest approach is to prepare properly, use the official DVSA service and make careful use of the booking changes available to you.
Pass your theory test and discuss your plans
You must have passed your theory test before booking a practical car test. If possible, speak to your driving instructor about when you may be ready and which test centre is appropriate.
Choose a centre you genuinely intend to use
Book through GOV.UK and choose a realistic test date and location. Test-centre changes are restricted, so booking an unsuitable centre simply because it has availability could leave you with limited options later.

Changing a test without understanding the new restrictions could use one of your limited changes or leave you unable to move to the test centre you want.
You only have two changes
A car driving-test appointment can be changed twice. After both changes have been used, you will need to cancel and make a new booking if another alteration is required.
Only you can manage your test
The learner taking the test must make the booking and any subsequent changes. Your instructor, driving school or another person cannot book, change, swap or cancel it for you.
Centre changes are restricted
You can generally remain at the same centre, return to the centre originally booked or move to one of the three nearest eligible test centres.
